Windy Ridge Trails

Windy Ridge Trails

Mt Airy, MD

Greenstone worked with the Town of Mount Airy and MORE to design and construct this purpose-built facility. The unique rocky soils were shaped into bike-optimized features to provide a safe and fun environment to practice jumping skills. The convenient location within the town limits will ensure equitable trail access to many local residents.

Cunningham Falls State Park

Thurmont, MD

Greenstone was selected by the state of Maryland and the Catoctin Furnace Historical Society to complete the first professionally built trails in CFSP. The Lady Slipper Trail in the Houck campground wraps around boulders and traverses rocky outcroppings to provide campground visitors additional recreation options without the need to use their vehicles. The resurfaced Iron Trail in the Manor area provides a highly accessible journey through the ruins of a historical iron furnace with boardwalks and informational waysides.

Dans Mountain State Park

Allegany County, MD

This 4.5-mile loop is our largest project and longest continuous trail. The Lonacona Loop connects existing amenities within this relatively unknown park in western Maryland. The mountains of Allegany county provided an excellent canvas to create rugged and natural trail features in an undeveloped landscape.

Frederick Watershed

Frederick, MD

Mid Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts (MORE)

Greenstone was selected to construct a variety of bike-specific and multi-use trail segments in the southern portion of the Frederick Watershed, totaling approximately 4 miles. Trails included Three Saws, Boundary Line, and a portion of the Catoctin Trail. The project created intermediate-level trails and features in demanding terrain, bringing a new user experience to this classic trail network.

Patapsco Valley State Park

Ellicott City, MD

The Friends of PVSP turned to Greenstone in 2020 for professional construction of ambitious connections in this heavily visited urban park. More recently, Greenstone has completed additional projects throughout the park, including the Old Ellicott City Connector Trail, Dogwood Trail, and the School’s Out Trail.

River's Edge Trails

Brunswick, MD

Greenstone has worked with MORE and the City of Brunswick to complete 4 contracts at this trail system. The steep terrain and property limitations didn’t prevent Greenstone from creating a uniquely dense trail system that utilizes every available acre of land. In 2023, we were tasked with connecting to a new parcel that expanded the existing trails with popular new options like Screaming Eagle and Railyard trails.

Greenbrier State Park

Boonsboro, MD

Maryland Dept. Of Natural Resources

Greenstone was selected by the state of Maryland to provide much needed trail enhancements to this popular park. The trails constructed provide access to under-utilized terrain and created new route opportunities. In addition to 1.6 miles of new trail, Greenstone constructed two 20’ timber bridges to cross streams.

Deep Creek Lake State Park

Garrett County, MD

IMBA Trail Solutions

Andrew worked as a subcontractor for the International Mountain Bike Association to contribute to this exciting trail project in 2015, 2016, and 2018. Andrew was responsible for the mechanized construction of approximately 4 miles of multi-use singletrack in rugged, mountainous terrain. This project demonstrates our ability to work with other builders and construct sustainable trail in sensitive environments.
